  • What is Les Passees, Inc.?

Les Passees, Inc. is an all-women, volunteer led nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children and families in the Memphis community. For more than 116 years, its members have worked tirelessly to make Memphis a better place for all through service, advocacy, and philanthropy. United by a shared mission to provide support and opportunities for local children and their families, members volunteer by fundraising to subsidize grants for children’s charities and to benefit the Kids on the Block puppet troupe. Through their commitment and generosity, Les Passees continues to help build a stronger, healthier future for Memphis.

  • Who are the Les Passees Kids on the Block?

The Les Passees Kids on the Block are a puppet troupe who perform educational programs in grade schools and community spaces. The troupe is funded and supported by Les Passees, Inc. KOTB teaches children about serious issues in a child friendly manner. Topics include avoiding alcohol and drugs, accepting physical differences in others, and gun safety. Each year, the puppets meet over 25,000 grade school children in the Memphis area.

  • What is Les Passees Stock Exchange?

The Les Passees Stock Exchange is a major fundraiser which is held each fall for six weeks. It is an upscale, popup consignment store that features furniture, paintings, rugs, china, jewelry, and much more. Member volunteers staff LPSE, and Les Passees accepts items for consignment from over 1,000 different consignors. Generous commercial property partnerships afford the organization retail space, however, the location is subject to change within the Memphis, TN area from year to year.   • Where will the next Stock Exchange be held?

For 40+ years, Stock Exchange has been held in the fall at a retail space location determined with the help of our commercial partners.  This year’s location has yet to be announced. Keep checking back here or at our Stock Exchange page for further details.

  • What portion of sales is kept by Stock Exchange?

Les Passees Stock Exchange works with its consignors on a 30/70 percent split. Les Passes Inc.’s 30 percent share stays within the Memphis community, and all profits go directly to grantees. In addition, Les Passes charges a $1 service fee per item.  The service fee is added directly into each item’s sale price. All consignors set prices for their merchandise. Les Passees, Inc. reserves the right to refuse consignment of any item at any time. Payments for items sold are completed by check within a few weeks of store closing.   • What items do you accept at Stock Exchange, and may I consign clothing?

Les Passees Stock Exchange does not accept clothing, with the exception of fine furs. The store sells clean items in good repair for the home. This includes furniture, art, rugs, crystal, china, silver, lamps and more. Check the list of items accepted for consignment.

  • What are the details of becoming a Stock Exchange consignor?

During Stock Exchange, consignment begins at the store location approximately four weeks before the store opens. After the store opens, consignment continues for new merchandise until shortly before the store closes for the season. Consignors pay a fee of $25 per 50 items consigned. A $1 service fee is added on to the price of each item as set by the consignor. Consignors receive a 70% share of sale prices. Each consignor sets prices for their own merchandise including: furniture, art, rugs, crystal, china, dishes, fine jewelry, fine furs, lamps and more. Review the list of items accepted for consignment. This list may be edited by Les Passees, Inc. at any time.  Please check the list each day, as items may be added and removed due to current inventory. Les Passees, Inc. reserves the right to refuse consignment of any item at any time. Payments to consignors for items sold are completed by check within a few weeks of the store closing.

  • What is Les Passees Cabaret?

The annual Cabaret gala celebrates the Les Passees sponsors and volunteers for a job well done. The gala features Les Passees children and grandchildren who serve as Living Ads and their Escorts and Pages all of whom represent our sponsors. The evening also features a silent auction.

  • What does Les Passees mean?
