ABOUT

Les Passees, a Memphis Tradition

For over 110 years, Les Passees members have followed in the footsteps of its founders, volunteering to make a better future for the city. Today’s members stand behind the club’s mission: to provide advocacy and support for local children and their families. Members focus on creating a stronger Memphis by volunteering and fundraising to give financial support to the Les Passees Kids on the Block puppet troupe and the Harwood Center preschool for special needs children.

The Les Passees Stock Exchange, a Memphis tradition for over 30 years, provides funds for Les Passees charities. Members volunteer every fall to run the six-week upscale consignment store for home furnishings, décor and treasures.

Another long-standing tradition, the annual Les Passees Cabaret gala, celebrates the club’s sponsors. Members’ children and grandchildren serve as Living Ads, their escorts, and pages representing the sponsors. Cabaret began in the 1920s. Today the fun-filled evening with dinner and dancing is paired with a silent auction to continue the club’s mission of support for children in Memphis.

Mission Statement

Les Passees, Inc. is a women’s volunteer organization that provides advocacy and support to enhance the quality of life for children and their families in our community.

Les Passees Prayer

Eternal God, our Father, who loves and cares for all persons, we pray that you will guide our endeavors to promote love and understanding among the members of this club and in our community. May we grow in our concerns for all humankind.

We know that you are especially concerned for those who may be helpless and without strength of their own, so give us your strength for nurturing the children who we serve. May we willingly give our time and love; encouraging them in their hopes. Enable us to make your presence known through our love and care.
